It's Your Businesses
The Story of Entrepreneurship
Local independent businesses provide the colour and the flavour of any neighbourhood. It is the local, independent businesses who provide a grassroots boost to the local economy. Campus Creative is proud to celebrate the spirit of local independent businesses with a series of micro-documentary videos highlighting a variety of entrepreneurs over diverse sectors and industries. We strive towards telling you about their unique contributions and the motivations behind their exceptional products, services and support that they bring to the mosaic of their communities.
Each of the businesses that we profile has a unique story to tell. Its founders and owners have followed their passion and work hard to share that with other people in their community. Many provide products you simply will not find anywhere else. Each has a one-of-a-kind story to tell about how they got into the business, the obstacles they had to overcome and the great joy of succeeding in doing something they love.
Get to know your neighbours and enjoy their diverse perspectives on success, business and life.
the process

networking
Our Production Managers are actively meeting with local independent businesses in a number of communities to learn about unique and exciting business stories and perspectives to share. If you know of a local independent business whose story must be told, please contact us.

filming
Once our Production Managers have assembled a shortlist of prospective video series candidate businesses and entrepreneurs, this list of recommended series participants is presented to our Executive Director for approval to begin filming. We require that video series participants dedicate approximately 2-hours of time for filming. 1-hour to film their interview, and 1-hour to film B-roll at their business (i.e. video background footage of the entrepreneur “doing what they do” etc.)

post-production
Once each filming session is completed, the footage is archived and scheduled for review. Our Video Editors will scrub through all of the interview footage and B-roll content and assess which stories are an overall fit with the production goals of the series. An initial rough cut will be created from all interviews where it seems there will be a fit. This rough cut is reviewed by our Production Managers, then presented to the Executive Director for approval to proceed to make a fine cut of the episode. Once the fine cut is produced, it will be queued for publication. After the episode is published, the video will be shared publically, and the business and entrepreneur(s) that were featured in that published episode will be provided with a link to share the video, use on their website and in social media, etc.
